Welcome to Sporveien's dialogue conference

The purpose of this event is to gather information to support the development of functional requirements for the future signalling system of the Oslo tram network.

Sporveien has launched a preliminary study for the tram network’s future signalling system, with support from COWI AS. The aim of this study is to define functional requirements that are independent of both specific technologies and suppliers. For more details, please refer to the information letter to suppliers:

One-to-One with Suppliers:

We would like the suppliers to prepare a presentation for the One-to-One session that addresses the topics below.   The suppliers are welcome to include relevant supporting information as attachments to their presentation.

Overarching themes:

  • The supplier´s key strengths, solutions, and technologies
  • How the supplier can meet Sporveien’s requirements and wishes, including any potential challenges
  • The supplier´s plans and strategies for driver assistance and autonomy
  • The supplier´s vision for the future
  • Any additional ideas or input the supplier wish to share

Spesific questions we would like feedback on:

  • What detection methods for turnouts control does the supplier offer that will work in Oslo's environment?
  • Has the supplier delivered solutions adapted to Nordic conditions?

Special conditions in Oslo:

    • The tram in Oslo mainly runs on urban tracks, on sight. In urban tracks, the tram runs in mixed traffic with buses, cars, bicycles, and pedestrians, and is regulated by the Road Traffic Authority. Urban tracks in Oslo are characterized by many narrow streets and challenging conditions as leaves in the autumn which makes the tracks slippery, and ice and snow in the winter.
    • The trams in Oslo currently operate on two tracks with right-hand driving, except for one interlacing track.
